Kelly Krechmer is a bird conservationist, citizen scientist, wildlife photographer, and conservation storyteller dedicated to documenting and sharing the natural world.
Through breeding bird atlas projects, eBird, the Macaulay Library, iNaturalist, and other community science initiatives, Kelly contributes field observations, photographs, audio recordings, and biodiversity data that help improve our understanding of birds and their habitats.
Her conservation work spans California, Virginia, and Maine, where she has participated in breeding bird surveys and documented bird distribution, behavior, and habitat use. Through Flappy Winged Wizard, Kelly shares stories from the field that connect science, conservation, and public engagement.
With a background in research, analysis, and public service, Kelly brings a unique perspective to conservation by combining careful observation, data-driven documentation, and compelling storytelling. Her goal is to inspire curiosity, encourage stewardship, and help others discover the remarkable wildlife around them.
